Preschool Art Activities

Some times when trying to come up with preschool art activities a great place to start to get your creative juices flowing is your calendar.

Each month of the year has various days, weeks, and observations of various events that you can turn into an art activity for preschool. Most all of the art activities that you can come up with will use the basic supplies that you probably already have or items that you have around the house. So, let's take a look at the calendar and see what types of potential activities we can find. The list is just a small sample from each month than you can easily expand and add to your homeschool calendar or homeschool scheduling. Hope this is helpful and works as a bit of a springboard for you.

Big Book of Monthly Arts & Crafts PreS-K

January –

No need to slow down your creative thinking after the holidays. There are some great art activity ideas for young children.
January is oatmeal month. Turn oatmeal into a great kindergarten art activity. You know you don't always have to eat oatmeal. With a little flour oatmeal and water you can make oatmeal objects that you can then actually paint.
January is also the home of
old rock day. Kids love to paint and decorate rocks with all kinds of stuff. You'll get some real interesting characters and animals and other creations when you turn your kids loose finding interesting rocks and having them paint them

TIP:

I used to make copies of many of my favorite pages in the books then put the copies into a 3-ring binder in sheet protectors so I could use them more than once and I always knew where they were as I also organized them by activity and month. Hope you enjoyed the sampling of all the different preschool art activities and others you can add to your homeschool calendar!
